Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Hanne

Hanne Gaby Odiele, after Dries Van Noten, Paris, February 2012.

Like Anna, Hanne has incredible (and unique) personal style. And this Jungle print look from Dries Van Noten is no exception.

Recreate Hanne's Look (kind of):

Dries Van Noten Jungle print dress

Rag & Bone Cayman sandals or Miu Miu whipstitched sandals or if you prefer to wear prints on your feet, these floral wedges are really cute.

Paris Fashion Week SS 2012...Emilie

Emilie Noel, before Rick Owens, Paris, September 2011.

It is always lovely to come across photographs from previous seasons that seem just perfect for now. My friend Emilie (who is Canadian but lives in Paris) looks so pretty and fresh in her boxy top, detachable collar and up and er, down, skirt (I have no idea what these skirts are called* so I am just going to go with "up and down" for now!).

Recreate Emilie's Look (kind of):

Revitalise a basic top with Karl sequined collar or Topshop Splodge sequin collar (which kind of reminds me of a Marni collar I saw in a magazine) or Dannijo peter pan Stella collar (a keep forever piece...half necklace/half collar, totally gorgeous)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Esther Oxford Top (it isn't navy but I love the boxy shape and colour of this top), No. 21 Graphic Tee with detachable collar or Preen Honey top with contrasting pink peter pan collar

Mason by Michelle Mason dipped hem skirt or Girl. by Band of Outsiders Althea printed dipped hem skirt  (such a pretty rose print for summer) or Topshop earth printed dipped hem skirt (Topshop have a great selection of these skirts. This one is my pick).

Acne Pistol stacked heel ankle boots (Peony has just bought a pair of these. So cute and versatile) or Rachel Comey Huron perforated booties.
*So apparently they are called dipped hem skirts. Much better than my clumsy "up and down" description :)

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Anna

Anna Dello Russo, after A Show, Paris, March 2012.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Vika

Vika Gazinskaya, after Christian Dior, Paris, March 2012.

Vika, in pieces from her spring/summer 2012 collection + Nike baseball cap + vintage t-shirt + statement earrings.

Another example of not keeping clothes/accessories for "good" (as my mum would say) but wearing beautiful pieces as often as you can. If you have a pair of fabulous statement earrings like Vika's that you save for special occasions, unearth them from your jewellery stash and try them for day (with a denim jacket or white shirt perhaps).

Haven't got a pair of party anytime earrings? Here are a few pairs similar to Vika's:

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Nadia

Nadia Sarwar, before Isabel Marant (I think!), Paris, March 2012.

Recreate Nadia's super cute look (kind of):

Zero + Maria Cornejo Devo dress (add a navy long sleeve tee like Nadia until the weather warms up) or Carven dungaree style dress (adore this dress especially the back with the crossover straps) or Topshop hooded jersey midi dress

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Miu Miu Glitter High-Tops

Miu Miu glitter high-tops, after Louis Vuitton, Paris, March 2012.

I am a sucker for a glitter shoe. I still have my glitter Miu Miu ballet flats - the ones with the crystal jewel on the front - from 2005 and I still love them (gulp! That is almost 7 years ago). It doesn't matter to me whether they are in or out of fashion, I think they are fun and they make me happy when I wear them! Plus they leave a glitter trail wherever I walk which I find oddly amusing :)

And I really love these Miu Miu glitter/studded high-tops - my friend Gia wore them during PFW (these are her shoes!) and Anne-Catherine has a pair as well.

Create your own glitter trail with these Miu Miu glitter leather high-tops or sneakers  or if you prefer a little less glitz, try these Ash Vibration Bis studded high-tops.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Hanneli

Hanneli, after Louis Vuitton, Paris, March 2012.

For me, there is a whole lotta 80's going on here with Hanneli's outfit. I think it is the wash and detailing on the jeans combined with the double-breasted jacket (with just a hint of 80's power dressing about it). But all brought firmly forward to 2012 with those Acne Alice platform pumps and the Valentino studded clutch.

Recreate Hanneli's look (kind of):

Preen pink Navigator blazer or Stella McCartney double-breasted hemp blazer  or  ASOS premium double breasted blazer

J Brand Aidan Slouchy jeans (they haven't got the fringing down the front but still have the same-ish vaguely 80's vintage feel)

Acne Alice silk platform pump or try the Audrey platform mules in denim or hot pink silk

Valentino VaVaVoom convertible clutch/ shoulder bag in black or patent red (I love this clutch and the way you can hold it with your fingers threaded through the studded band).

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012....Natalie

Natalie Hartley, before A Show, Paris, March 2012.

These Rag & Bone pants are (one) of my favourites of the season - and Natalie rocked them in Paris. They have a serious leg-lengthening effect (clearly to do with the tuxedo stripe running down the side). And worn with a pair of platform heels? You've got Nadja Auermann in your sights. Err, sort of.

Recreate Natalie's Look (kind of):

Rag & Bone Dwight trousers or Derek Lam trousers with glossy black racing stripe (move aside Mark Webber, we're comin' at you!) or go a little wider for high summer with these M Missoni Colourblock wide leg pants.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Cato

Cato Van Ee, after Andrew Gn, Paris, March 2012.

Recreate Cato's Look (kind of):

3.1 Phillip Lim two-tone leather jacket or Acne ombre leather jacket or Pencey two-tone denim motorcyle jacket (a little lighter for spring/summer)

Alexander Wang Brenda chain bag

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012.....Eleonora

Eleonora Carisi, after Stella McCartney, Paris Fashion Week, March 2012.

Love the combination that Eleonora has put together here of preppy varsity jacket and lace skirt. Plus, and it isn't obvious from my photograph, but she was wearing a neon pink bra under her white tee-shirt. A cute way (along with her mini-purse) to incorporate colour into an otherwise monochromatic look.

Recreate Eleonora's Look (kind of):
Embrace your inner college kid with Boy. by Band of Outsiders black Varsity wool and leather jacket  or Alexander Wang tracksuit bomber jacket or Junior Varsity jacket (from Nasty Gal).
ASOS full skirt with embroidered hem or ASOS crochet detail midi-skirt or Isabel Marant Delph broderie anglaise (a little shorter in length than Eleonora's skirt)

Mimi Holiday neon-pink silk chiffon bra

Rebecca Minkoff neon pink quilted flirty bag

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Mackenzie and Katryn

Mackenzie Drazan and Katryn Kruger, after Louis Vuitton, Paris, March 2012.
